Terra Nova Lanterns: Light and Mysteries of Metal and Glass
The paths and green spaces of the Terra Nova estate now feature new lighting accents: stained-glass lanterns made of Corten steel, entirely designed, manufactured, and installed by us.
This project was made possible by our own stained glass workshop, where we create unique, custom-made stained glass. Utility art objects, like these lanterns, combine the strength of metal with the poetry of light, are also born here.
The lanterns are made of Corten steel, a weather-resistant material that develops a luxurious oxide patina over time. Initially, they have a warm metallic hue—from steel to copper-orange—and then gradually darken, acquiring deep ochre-terracotta tones. This steel requires no painting: its beauty lies in its natural aging, interaction with the environment, and constant change.
In the evening, lanterns illuminate the space with a warm, diffused light, creating an atmosphere of coziness, silence, and a touch of magic. They have become part of the environment: integral, vibrant, and meaningful.
Each lantern is the result of handcrafted and collaborative creativity. Together, they create the artistic rhythm of Terra Nova's evening.
